Blue Standard Music

Blue Standard Music was founded in 2002 by Birgitta Adamson and Michael Lindgren. From the start of this independent country music publishing companay, focus has been on the sound and the sincere expressions in

traditional country music, solidly eststablished by great American composers and artists like Jimmie Rodgers

and Hank Williams. The goal of the company is to promote the old country music, and to have skilled composers

and musicians involved, that can develop new songs in the style of the past. To this extent, all the artists of

The Long gone Smiles Band has made great contributions.

The Long gone Smiles Band

The Long gone Smiles Band, from Stockholm, Sweden,is a unique group which offers classic country music in

the style recorded by artists of the Golden Era of Country Music 1927-1957. The band performs on genuine

acoustic and vintage electric instruments of the time, and features old style country harmony singing. The group

members include some of Sweden's top country musicians playing a variety of instruments: powerful fiddle,

sparkling mandolin, whining Dobro and National tricone 1929 Hawaiian guitar, moanin’ lapsteel of the 40’s,

bouncin’ guitars and poundin’ upright bass.

Michael Lindgren and Birgitta Adamson formed the group after winning a third place in the 2005 Jimmie

Rodgers Talent Contest in Meridian, Mississippi, where they performed “The Brakemen on the Memphis

Train” - Lindgren's tribute song to Jimmie Rodgers. Their performance spurred a lot of media interest and led

to a feature on the ABC News show as well as live performances on several Meridian radio stations.

The day after the contest the daily newspaper Meridian Star sported the headline:

“Couple from Sweden takes Meridian by storm.”

In September 2007 The Long gone Smiles Band was awarded best artist in the category "Pure Country

Music" in the Swedish championships in country music.  The same year LGSB released its first CD-album:

"Nashville", and has since toured the Swedish country music circuit playing country music festivals,

theatre concerts and other events. The band presents an uplifting and spiritual show that is guaranteed

to put a smile on your face.  A multitude of classic acoustic country music instruments are used, and the

band mixes music with stories about country music, its artists and their lives. In 2007 the country magazine

Countrywood” wrote an article about the band when reviewing the album “Nashville”: “The Long Gone

Smiles Band is a prime choice for those who like traditional country music, with the difference

that this album at the same time feels much more refreshing, since it has been recorded with modern

equipment in 2007.”  All LGSB songs are mixed and mastered at Art Vista Productions, Los Angeles.

LGSB gains its inspiration from the music and the powerful performances of Jimmie Rodgers and Hank

Williams. The band's name refers to Rodgers' and Williams' smiles, which are long gone

- But their wonderful music remains!
